goodbye & thank you electric angel
with a lump in my throat it’s come to the time to flee the electric angel nest that has been a perfect home for the last 6 years. i couldn’t have asked for a better working environment and better people to work with, both adrian and rebecca, but also all the other people we’ve worked with over the years.
so i’ll keep it short to avoid the risk of teary eyes. thanks everyone.
trespassing
had to drive a 40 mile round trip in what was looking like awful dull cloud. hopped the wall to get in (sorry dracula!) for what was about 10 minutes of sunlight in an otherwise grey evening. merged a couple of exposures, hopefully not too obviously.

some of my work is currently showing in the tiny gallery.
there is no artistic backstory or motive, just a collection of water-based, hopefully nice, imagery shot around the scarborough area to coincide with the coming of the uk pro surf tour on october 1st and 2nd.
we’re open weekdays 9.30 – 5pm mostly and all weekend on 1st-2nd october.

rob & lynn’s wedding | ox pasture hall | august 2011
rob and lynn asked me to take photos of their marriage this summer. the whole day was at ox pasture hall, scarborough, a nice country venue surrounded by some of my favourite local woods. rob and lynn wanted a comfortable atmosphere with few posed shots and a candid approach to their photos. however, i do always encourage people to pose for at least a few.
a good amount of time was left for drinks on the lawn. i try to avoid talking about the weather at all costs but happily it played very fairly on this particular day, being warm and sunny all day.
an added quirk of the day was a visit by a local ice cream van, from alonze’s, one of scarborough’s famous italian ice cream families.
i think it was loved by all.
the best weddings are ones with a happy atmosphere, with plenty of laughter and genuine happiness for the couple. this wedding was a perfect example of that.
